Terms of Use
Last Updated: August 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing, browsing, or using the DoctorDocs website (the "Service"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use our document scanning, PDF utility, or OCR services.
2. Description of Service
DoctorDocs provides an array of online tools for document manipulation, including Optical Character Recognition (OCR), PDF formatting, image conversions, and AI-powered text analysis. Some tools process data entirely locally within your web browser, while specialized AI tools process data via secure third-party AI APIs (Google Gemini) with zero data retention.
3. User Obligations and Lawful Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You are strictly prohibited from using the Service to:
- Process, distribute, or store any illegal, explicit, or highly sensitive restricted materials.
- Forge headers or manipulate identifiers to disguise the origin of any content.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, bypass, or exploit any software mechanisms, billing metrics, or security features.
- Upload files containing malicious software, viruses, or corrupted data designed to interrupt or destroy infrastructure.
4. Critical Medical and Legal Disclaimers
Medical Disclaimer (YMYL) & HIPAA Non-Compliance: DoctorDocs is strictly a document-processing and text-extraction software. We do NOT provide medical diagnoses, treatment advice, or professional healthcare opinions. DoctorDocs is NOT HIPAA-compliant and must not be used by US healthcare providers to process Protected Health Information (PHI). OCR technology is subject to physical inaccuracies. If you are extracting text from medical prescriptions, lab reports, or health documents, the extracted text MUST NOT be used for medical decision-making. Always physically present the original documents to a licensed healthcare professional.
Legal Disclaimer: Similarly, our PDF editing and flattening tools do not constitute legal advice. You are solely responsible for ensuring that documents processed via DoctorDocs meet the legally binding requirements of your local jurisdiction before official submission.
5. Subscriptions, Payments, and Billing
While basic utilities are provided free of charge (supported by advertisements), premium features require a one-time payment made via UPI. There is no automatic or recurring billing of any kind: we do not store card details, cannot charge you again in the future, and do not initiate any payment on your behalf. Each payment is a single, manual UPI transfer that you complete yourself, on a page separate from this website, for the plan and period shown there at the time of purchase.
After you complete the UPI payment, we verify the transaction (UTR/reference number) against our bank records and manually activate your premium access, tied to the email address associated with your payment. This activation is not instantaneous and may take a few hours.
No cancellation is necessary. Because nothing renews or charges automatically, there is no subscription to cancel — your premium access simply expires at the end of the paid period. To continue using premium features afterward, you must make a new UPI payment; we will never debit you without a fresh, deliberate payment on your part.
Refunds: If you are not satisfied, you may request a full refund within 7 days of your payment, provided you have not made more than 20 AI-assisted operations during that period. To request a refund, email prabhu@doctordocs.in with your account email and the UTR/reference number of your UPI payment; refunds are issued back to the UPI ID or bank account the payment originated from. After 7 days, or if the usage threshold has been exceeded, payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable law (including EU consumer withdrawal rights).
6. Advertisements and Third-Party Links
DoctorDocs utilizes third-party advertising partners (such as Google AdSense) to keep core tools free. We have no control over the content of third-party advertisements or external websites linked to from our platform. Clicking on third-party links or ads is done at your own risk, and DoctorDocs assumes no liability for any subsequent interactions or damages.
7. Intellectual Property Rights
You retain absolute ownership of all intellectual property rights to the documents you process using our tools. By using our Service, you do NOT grant DoctorDocs any license or ownership over your files. Conversely, the DoctorDocs platform, including its code, design, algorithms, and branding, is the exclusive intellectual property of the operators and is protected by copyright laws.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or entirely secure.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall DoctorDocs, its founders, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the Service; or (iii) unauthorized access, use or alteration of your transmissions or content.
10. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
